Welcome to Lepzard's Public Domain Media Archive area. This part of Lepzard.com is basically a small scale attempt at making some images available as public domain for reuse in whatever manner anyone wants without any limitations. Everything here comes straight from individuals who are part of the Lepzard community, which means nothing is simply copied/suspicious junk like you may find on other PD sites. There have been previous incarnations of the PDMA (Public Domain Media Archive) on Lepzard, but this one is a giant upgrade that finally brings a few elements we've wanted together. Visitors now have the ability to leave descriptive comments about the images found here and enhance the chances others will find them. The background software for the PDMA is a homebrew creation that allows us (those of us at Lepzard) to upload our personal pictures and have them become available easily in this new format.

While the primary goal of the site is to create a public domain resource, the site has a secondary goal of documentation. For example, let's say a picture of an unknown object was uploaded into the archive after someone took a picture of it, perhaps while trekking around a forest. While the picture becomes a nice piece of public domain media, the image itself is available for commenting on and it could lead to someone showing up who can identify the object, who comments on it using the handy comment boxes found throughout the site, and knowledge is gained! Think of it as a neat twist on a wiki.

You are also welcome to visit the main Lepzard.com site where we have a forum, although it is home to many things beyond the PDMA.

Did you know that by using the box to the left you can help the Lepzard Public Domain Media Archive project? If you had a hard time finding this public domain material it is probably because it isn't defined well and the search feature here on Lepzard doesn't have much to work with. Chances are the image here started out as a random personal photo, scrap cast off from a template, or other misc odd and end and no one has the time to care much for it. By giving it some helpful descriptive text, that can change. Comments will be queued up briefly and then added into the page. It also helps to let those few of us at Lepzard who put things here and do put forth the effort to have a public domain section enjoy knowing that someone noticed and cared about the effort of having this site in the first place.
